What is a CO2 Fractional Laser?

Fractional laser treatment is a non-invasive procedure that uses a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) laser to rejuvenate the skin by targeting small sections of the skin with laser light in pulses.

The laser beam is split into thousands of tiny columns of light, called microthermal treatment zones (MTZs), that penetrate the skin. The treatment only affects a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving the surrounding skin intact.

The treatment stimulates the body’s natural collagen renewal process, which can lead to smoother, plumper skin with an even tone. It can also help reduce the appearance of acne scars and signs of aging.

The longevity of the downtime depends on the treatment you had, this will be discussed with you before your treatment.

How much downtime should I expect?

Following SmartXide Punto, patients may experience redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, akin to a sunburn, which typically resolves within a few days. Most individuals can resume their usual daily activities immediately post-treatment, though some may prefer to schedule downtime for the initial recovery period. The recovery for Cool-Peel is very short lasting for 24-48 years and is much longer for stronger peels. Please discuss this during your consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically, the Deep Laser Peel only needs a 1-2 sessions 3 month apart to achieve the desired result, while in general, 4-6 sessions are recommended for the Soft laser Peel (Cool Peel ) protocols 4-6 weeks apart.
