We offer original multiple types of Botulin Toxin treatments for wrinkles: Botox®, Bocouture®, Xeomin®, Dysport®, Azzalure®

Botox and Botulin toxins are prescription medications and can only be provided after a face-to-face consultation and prescription with our Doctor, if it is appropriate for you.

If you attend a salon or clinic where Botox or other injectable anti-wrinkle treatment is offered, without consultation with a Doctor, Prescribing Nurse or Dentist, then they are breaking the law regarding prescription medications. Such incidents should be reported to the UK Government medicines watchdog MHRA.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Botox® and it's related Products?

Botox® is purified protein produced from Clostridium Botulinum and is approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) agency. It has been used on over 1 million patients for almost 20 years and is supported by long-term safety data.

An injectable product such as Botox® is injected directly into a wrinkle area, temporarily relaxing the muscles.

It is especially good for improving and preventing lines in the upper part of the face, such as vertical lines between the eyebrows, creases in the forehead and crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes. Botox® is also used to improve the position of the eyebrows and the position of the corners of the mouth (the ‘marionette’ lines). Repeated injectable Botulin protein treatments reduce the development of new lines and wrinkles as the muscle become more relaxed.

The results are not immediate. Botox® takes 5-10 days to start working and the full effect is achieved by 14 days. For the best long-term results the initial treatments should be approximately 12-16 weeks apart. The intervals will eventually become longer as your muscles learn to be more relaxed.

Botox® and other injectables can be combined with dermal fillers to reduce the appearance of even very deep wrinkles, in some cases eliminating the wrinkle completely.

What do I need to do after Botulin protein (Botox®) treatment?

There is usually no downtime after the treatment. However, it is advised that you should avoid exercise and hot baths for 2 hours following the treatment and massaging or rubbing the area for following 24hours.

When is Botulin protein (Botox®) contraindicated?

Botulin Toxin injections are contraindicated in the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to any Botulinum preparation
  • Infection at the proposed injection site
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • If you are treated with aminoglycosides, penicillamine, quinine, and calcium channel blockers please let your doctor know.

What are the side effects of Botulin protein treatment?

Side effects are rare. It is considered to be one of the safest cosmetic procedures available. However, you may experience mild pain, irritation of the injection site, headache and twitching on the muscles around injection site in the first couple of days post injection as the muscles starting to relax. In rare cases some tenderness, mild redness, swelling or bruising may occur, but these are only short-term effects. Uncommonly, you may notice an eyelid drop, however this side effect will resolve as the effects of the Botulin protein start to weaken. In very rare cases Botulin treatment may not work.
