About Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure where a series of superfine injections of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and hyaluronic acid are delivered into the mesodermal layer of the skin. This infusion of very highly specific ingredients nourishes and rejuvenates the skin. Our goal is to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, both essential for skin’s natural elasticity. This can help revitalise skin, improve its appearance and reduce the signs of ageing. Mesotherapy can also be combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

At Hardwick clinic we have multiple options for this type of treatment and will work with you to decide what treatment might be appropriate for you

At Hardwick Clinic the most popular mesotherapy procedure is using dermaroller as it has the least downtime and significantly reduces the likelihood of brusiing. Dermaroller is offered as part of both standard mesotherapy and with PRP.

Mesotherapy

Anti-Ageing Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy acts globally on skin quality. It works by revitalizing skin and a progressive improvement of skin quality. The main ingredients of a mesotherapy solution are: Hyaluronic acid, 12 vitamins, 23 amino acids, 6 minerals, 6 coenzymes, 5 nucleic acids and antiradical agents.

At Hardwick Clinic we use HA-DERMA Viscoderm SKINKO products which are among the highest quality mesotherapy products from the same manufactuer as Profilho.

Mesotherapy

Viscoderm® Skinko & Viscoderm® Skinko E are anti-ageing and antioxidant complexes containing more than 50 dermofunctional elements including non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (700kDA), minerals, amino acids and vitamins.

Benefits of Skinko E
  • Protects and repairs damage caused by UV rays
  • Softens wrinkles and expression lines
  • Restores skin tone, firmness and elasticity
Treatment Protocol

At Hardwick Clinic we typically perform four treatments with three or four week intervals per cycle. Viscoderm® Skinko & Viscoderm® Skinko E complement the action of all dermoaesthetic treatments (dermafillers, peels, PRP, etc). Please discuss your treatment plan with your Doctor.

General Benefits of Mesotherapy

Hyaluronic acid is widely distributed in skin. It increases hydration, drives synthesis of collagen for normal skin function. It is a critical component for structural integrity of the skin with anti-oxidant properties. It greatly improves skin quality producing younger looking skin.

We can treat almost any area of the body including: Face, Neck, Décolleté, areas of cellulitis and the scalp (for androgenic baldness). For scalp treatments please refer to our hairloss section.

Mesotherapy combined with Dermaroller

While mesotherapy works under the surface of the skin at the mesodermal layer, it is also desirable to stimulate collagen above this layer with a dermaroller treatment.

Dermal Roller treatment or Medical Skin Needling. This treatment uses micro-needles to part the pores on the top layer of the skin and increase its ability to soak up nutrients.

This treatment reduces aging of the skin by restoring firmness and tightness, improves quality of the skin by thickening the epidermis, improves the appearance of large pores and reduces appearance of scars including scars from acne, chicken pox, surgical scars, burn or accidental injuries.

It will also: Lighten pigmentation marks, improves appearance of stretch marks and improve the appearance of areas of cellulite

SKINKO E

Post-treatment, redness of the skin usually lasts for 2 hours but can last up to 48 hours. Swelling of the skin is usually not long-lasting but can last for up to 48 hours. Bruising is usually only small superficial bruises.

Why vitamins are important for youthful looking skin?
  • Vit. A acts on skin density and suppleness by regulating keratinisng and healing process
  • Vit. B complex (B8, B5, B9, B3, B6, B2, B1, B12) acts on metabolism of essential fatty acids improving skin biological balance
  • Vit. C acts on collagen production, inhibits free radicals and localized hyper production of melanin responsible for dark patches formation
  • Vit. E acts as ani-radical by hydrogen peroxide inhibition
  • Vit. I promotes healthy hair and skin
Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in skin and helps your skin look and feel more supple. Roughly half of the hyaluronic acid in your body is present in your skin, where it binds to water to help retain moisture. However, the natural aging process and exposure to things like ultraviolet radiation from the sun, tobacco smoke and pollution can decrease its amounts in the skin. Mesotherapy with hyaluronic acid may prevent this decline by giving your body extra amounts to incorporate into the skin.

Why are amino acids are important for the skin?
  • Proline, hydroxyproline and lystine are amino acids that are involved in collagen formation
  • Aspartate, threonine and lysine are amino acids involved in elastine formation
  • Amino acids are building blocks of essential protein formation
Why are minerals and coenzymes important for the skin?
  • Minerals are essential for cellular function
  • Coenzymes Increase metabolic reaction speed increasing cell turnover and tissue construction speed
Why do we need nucleic acids?
  • They control formation of polypeptides and synthesis of proteins required for rejuvenation of the skin
Anti-oxidant Agents
  • Stop radical oxidation causing skin damage

PRP & Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy can now be combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) otherwise known as Dracula/Vampire therapy. To find out more please see our section on PRP Treatment. At Hardwick clinic we have a unique protocol for extracting platelet rich plasma from your blood and activating it so that it will work more effectively. It is especially useful when combinde with traditional mesotherapy and/or dermaroller treatment. This combined meso-PRP therapy an exciting new development in the field and our patients are already reporting excellent results. It is only available at a small number of aesthetic specialty clinics.

Dermaroller

Dermaroller

Dermal Roller treatment or Medical Skin Needling. Dermal Roller uses micro-needles to part the pores on the top layer of the skin and increases its ability to soak up the nutrients of the skin preparation used.

It increases the release of growth factor that stimulates the production and formation of new collagen and elastin. It works by revitalizing skin and progressive improvement of skin quality by increasing absorption of ingredients. Dermal roller causes no skin damage and has minimal side-effects, short healing time and causes minimum discomfort. It is also suitable for all skin types and body parts.

Dermaroller and Mesotherapy

Dermaroller is a natural addon for any mesotherapy procedure. A mesotherapy treatment using a dermaroller, involves the introduction of mesotherapy solution under the skin using a dermaroller device instead of a needle. This reduces the likelihood of bruising and downtime significantly. This is the most popular form of skin rejuvenation mesotherapy at Hardwick Clinic.

Dermaroller and PRP

We can also perform dermaroller treatment using additional Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from a small quantity of your own blood which is extremely rich in growth factors and other constituents important for healing and repair. This will be directly applied to the face for the most effective dermaroller results. For more information please see our section on PRP treatment
