Hardwick Clinic has a unique approach to the treatment of hair loss, developed based on the latest research and technologies available.
We are able to offer hair rejuvenation, hair restoration and the treatment of hair loss (Alopecia). Our approach combines the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Mesotherapy, 5α-Reductase inhibitors, other topical medications and medical-grade LLLT (Low level laser treatment). This combined treatment plan is unique in the field and only available at Hardwick Clinic.
We see many clients who come to visit us following surgical procedures such as hair-transplantation. Our treatments are frequently recommended by hair transplantation centres, however at Hardwick clinic we offer the widest variety of treatment options based on the latest research. Our goal is to help you maximise the results of your hair transplantation and to enhance the healing process post surgery. Our approaches are also extremely suitable for the maintenance of your hair-transplantation results after healing is completed.
During your free consultation, your Doctor will assess your existing hair loss. Based on this individual consultation we will develop a bespoke treatment plan for you, including suggesting nutritional changes and bespoke hair-care regimes to maximise your hair rejuvenation results. Our treatment programs usually involve a selection of the following approaches. An individual plan will be tailored to your needs.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy can be benefical for treatment of some types of hair loss in both men and women. It is most commonly used for treatment of male and female pattern baldness. Our PRP treatment involves state of the art centrifugal separation from your own blood, utilising a double spin for extremely concentrated PRP. This contains active growth factors which can promote hair growth. Helping to restore natural looking hair, the end result is a fuller, healthier looking head of hair. With a thin needle, your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. Then the growth factors in your blood cells do their job and hair growth is naturally stimulated. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been shown to be especially useful for treating many types of baldness, particularly in combination with medication, see below. The PRP procedure is especially useful following hair transplantation surgery. Many hair transplantation centres send patients to us following surgery. PRP can help speed up the healing process, enhance the results and maintain your hair growth.
This treatment involves the injection of vitamins and minerals essential for hair follicle and rejuvenation and growth. We combine this with a 5α-Reductase inhibitors when required. This drug blocks an enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT which is known to cause hair-loss. Mesotherapy allows us to deliver medication directly to the place where it is needed and avoids most side-effects.
For patients where mesotherapy with 5α-Reductase inhibtor is not suitable, we can also offer oral medication such as Propecia or Finasteride or other appropriate medication.
In addition to the above treatments there are a number of topical medications that can be applied directly to the scalp. These treatments can improve hair growth, maintain existing hair and can prevent hair loss. Examples of topical medications include Minoxidil (also known as Regaine).
We use medical-grade LLLT (low level laser therapy) devices. These devices are approved, clinically tested and validated for hair loss (alopecia), hair restoration and for healing, recovery and enhancement of hair following hair transplantation. LLLT is a useful method in for treating hair problems in both men and women. This approach is very safe and effective.
To achieve the best possible results for you. We advise the following treatment regime for Male Pattern Baldness
For other types of hair loss including female hair-loss we advise:
To maintain results obtained during the above treatment, we will advise you on the best options, usually involving a 3-6 month maintenance treatment. Use of LLLT may be appropriate for you to commence at home. Sometimes, oral or topical medication will be required.
Results will vary from patient to patient but results of the treatment should become visible between 3-6 months after treatment begins.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy involves taking blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate, blood cells, platelets and plasma. The platelets fraction also contains growth factors and other essential components for healing. Numerous proteins are contained in Platelet rich plasma including: platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor (TGF), platelet factor interleukin (IL), platelet-derived angiogenesis factor (PDAF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), insulin-like growth factor IGF and fibronectin. Our methods harvest a very pure and concentrated PRP fraction containing these important growth and healing factors which can then be injected into the scalp where they can promote healing and recovery of hair follicles.
If you are suffering from the following conditions, then PRP therapy is not for you:
Some forms of alopecia are not conducive to PRP treatment, this will be assessed during your free consultation.
